Purchasing Agent

LOCATION: On-Site and/or Remote
PAY: Competitive Salary based on Qualifications
TYPE: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:30-5:00

We are looking for a Purchasing Agent who will be responsible for identifying suppliers, researching materials, processing purchase orders and verifying delivered items. Industry-specific training will be provided. Clean, safe and friendly workplace with excellent benefits, quarterly bonuses, paid holidays, retirement plan, PTO and no night or weekend work.  All work is done in climate-controlled environments.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Procure raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies for the organization
  • Communicate with suppliers via email or phone to obtain product or service information such as pricing, availability, MOQ and delivery schedule
  • Critically assess suppliers and products, and negotiate the best possible deals when necessary
  • Prepare and process purchase orders
  • Schedule and verify purchase deliveries
  • Discuss defective and unacceptable goods or services with QC personnel, vendors and others to determine the source and take corrective action
  • Maintain records of all transactions, purchase orders, deliveries, product quantitates and receipts
  • Build and maintain positive, long-term supplier relations


  • High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous purchasing experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills and proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, Gmail and inventory software
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
  • Strong organization and documentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages and decimals


  • Frequently required to sit

  • Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
  • Occasionally required to reach, balance, stoop, climb, bend, kneel or crawl
  • Frequently required to talk and/or hear
  • Must occasionally lift, move, slide, raise and/or place 35 lbs.
  • Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information and/or use a keyboard
  • Work environment consists of: office and warehouse
  • he noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
